Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Honey Life Integrative Health Inc., doing business as Honey Life ("Honey Life", "we", "us"), is a naturopathic clinic in Langley, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (honeylife.ca), our online booking, our emails, and our clinic, and how we use and protect it.
We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the record-keeping standards of our regulatory college. We also follow Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) for any marketing emails we send.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and booking details. For example, your name, email, phone number, date of birth and appointment preferences when you book, contact us or join our email list.
- Health information. As a patient, you share your health history, symptoms, test results, treatment notes and related information with your naturopathic doctor.
- Billing and insurance details. These are needed to take payment and to bill your insurer directly when you ask us to. Card payments go through our booking system's payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically on our website
- Website usage. For example, the pages you visit, how you arrived (such as from a Google search or one of our ads), your general location (city level), and your device and browser type. This is collected through Google Analytics (see section 4).
2. How we use your information
- To provide and coordinate your care.
- To book, confirm and remind you about appointments.
- To process payments and bill your insurer directly when you ask us to.
- To respond to your questions.
- To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
- To measure whether our online ads lead to bookings.
- To send you clinic news and offers, but only if you have agreed to receive them.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including keeping clinical records.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to show you ads based on your interests.
3. Consent
We collect, use and share your personal information with your consent, except where the law allows otherwise. We ask for your express consent before collecting health information, usually as part of your intake forms.
For website analytics, we rely on implied consent: we describe the practice in this policy and give you an easy way to opt out.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw consent, it may affect our ability to provide some services. For example, we cannot treat you without a health history. If so, we will explain the impact.
4. Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep it working, secure, and able to remember your preferences.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website so we can improve it. Because we advertise on Google, Google Analytics also tells Google Ads whether a visit from one of our ads led to a booking, so we can measure how well our ads work.
We do not use this information to show you ads based on your interests, and we do not sell it.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on any website with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do. To learn how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. Emails from us
You will receive emails about your appointments, such as confirmations, reminders and intake forms.
We only send clinic news and offers if you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. It does not affect appointment emails.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers that help us run the clinic. These include our booking, clinical records and payment system (Jane App), email and office software (Google Workspace), our email newsletter service (Brevo), website hosting (Squarespace), website analytics and advertising measurement (Google), and cloud storage (Amazon Web Services). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Insurers, when you ask us to bill them directly.
- Other health professionals, with your consent, such as when you ask us to send a referral or results to your physician.
- Regulators and authorities, where required by law. For example, our regulatory college, or in response to a court order.
7. Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. While stored there, it may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws.
In particular, Honey Life uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to securely store and process some personal health information used for clinic operations, analytics and quality improvement. This information is stored in AWS data centres in the United States (Oregon). We protect it with encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to authorized clinic staff, and audit logging.
8. How long we keep information
- Clinical records are kept for the period required by our regulatory college, and then securely destroyed.
- Website analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
- Other information, such as email list membership, is kept until you ask us to remove it or it is no longer needed.
9. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information. These include access limited to people who need it, encryption, secure systems, and confidentiality obligations for staff and service providers.
10. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used and shared, and ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 business days, as PIPA requires. In limited cases the law allows or requires us to refuse access. If so, we will tell you why.
